Gold Mode, Great Find & Return To Jamba Juice, lol.

Its frustrating not being able to unleash some creativity behind the computer - well Photoshopping that is. I haven't made a manipulation or collage since my new layout and resources on Artificial Decay. School's sucked the fun out of me. I don't really feel like doing anything at all. I just want to come home, nap then read all your lovely blogs on all the new finds and new products that would make me go broke (LOL). Plus, every one's blogs really bring up my day. But of course life doesn't work that way as I'm stuck with chores, homework, and some drama in between. But hey, if I didn't have all that then life would probably be a bore.

So I went to Target a few days back and I purchased a product that works pretty similar to the MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Natural but for a fraction of the cost. Its the Maybelline Dream Matte Powder. I don't personally own a Mineralize Skinfinish Natural, but I have seen, touched, and have tried it on. I was real close to purchasing an MSF Natural, but then I thought, its a bit ridiculous to shell out nearly $28-30USD for a setting powder. Especially when I really need be to saving money. And I'm glad I held off on buying it because I really love this Dream Matte powder.

The packaging is sturdy enough that you can put it in your purse or makeup bag for touch ups. I don't personally like to touch up through out the day so mine stays at home. The mirror and puff (which is a soft velvet puff) is located in the bottom swivel compartment - which I find is nice, yet some what annoying at the same time. This is because I didn't look at the packaging and though it was a flip-cover, haha. But its definitely better than flipping back and forth just to touch up.

I got this for about $6USD in the color Honey Medium 3-4. I'd say the color is medium-medium olive maybe? The color is pretty sheer as seen in the swatch (I went over the swatch about 3 times) below and it comes off transparent on the skin so you can get away with a shade that's a little lighter or darker. This powder has some shimmers in it, but you can't even see it when applied. Like the MAC MSF Natural, it doesn't leave a completely matte finish - its more of a nice soft glow.

The reason why I like the Dream Matte Powder so much is because it kept my oily t-zone at bay. Usually I start oiling up on my nose and inner cheek area a bit by 2PM, but this powder seriously reduced it by a good amount. My nose stayed shine-free and my inner cheeks had just the tiniest shine. I've tried so many Maybelline base makeup products and I usually don't like any of them. But this product is probably the best Maybelline has put out. The only down side is that there aren't many shades to choose from, but let's hope that changes later on.

I haven't done any type of EOTD or FOTD in a while huh? So this look was inspired by Blair's recent magazine post (the all-over gold look). But since my camera is so bad at catching the colors, I did a some what "editorial" twist to it? I was looking at a magazine earlier and decided to do a spotlight type thing near my window to kind of catch the gold colors - sadly enough it worked on the first try, haha. I tried to do a second one and I failed miserably, lol.

So its been a while since I went to Jamba Juice, and last week I went with Angelle to get a quick bite. The menu had some new items to try out, so I ordered the Açaí Topping and the Smokehouse Chicken Flatbread. The flatbread looked like a shrunken personal pizza. Even though it was good, it wasn't worth the $3.75USD price. Over priced for such a small piece of &^%$! The Açaí Topping was like a parfait. It was a mix of açaí and mango topped with granola and bananas. Yummy in the tummy.

Sorry for such a long post, but I hope you all like and hope you all have a great week! Thanks for reading! ♥

Haha, yeah, that's what I like about them. They're so sheer that you can layer for a little more oil control.
