I HOPE ALL OF YOU HAD A GREAT THANKSGIVING!

So most of you know or heard of Black Friday. I believe its pretty similar to warehouse sales, stores open as early as 3AM and you can get a lot of items 30%-60% off. I was so ecstatic last year because I got a ton of stuff, but sadly, this year I hardly got anything. I wanted to get some clothes, but the items that were on sale were not....nice, haha. I was so disappointed that I even forgot to step into Sephora to get something for a swap, lol!

So, I didn't get anything make up related - sadly, I really wanted to get my hands on NARS Sheer Glow Foundation and the Book of Shadows II as I missed their F&F sale! But I'm actually eyeing 2 palettes from Beauties Factory - well, maybe 4 (ha!) so I can't wait to get those and review them for you lovelies!

I've always stayed away from news as I hate hearing and knowing about things like this going on in our society. But as Thanksgiving arrived, I saw this video (below) of Sam (you may all know her and Nic's channel pixiwoo) doing a makeup tribute to Sophie Lancaster, a victim of hate crime.

Sometimes I do get questions about my brushes, like which ones I recommend and which ones I would purchase first. This is so long overdue - sorry Vonvon! I'm going to review some of my brushes I've had for years and some that I've acquired the last few months. I'm not going to lie, I am fond of brushes and I do intend to get more because I'm so lame like that - plus, I can get lazy washing brushes so having back ups are helpful. Besides, there's no such thing as having enough brushes right? *wink*

Here's what I have so far - and yes, I do manage to use them all, lol.

I've never been fond of using liquid foundation as I hate the feeling of it on my skin. I've always stuck to mineral foundation since its feels much lighter and doesn't look obvious. I don't recommend anyone using foundation at all unless you feel you really need it (i.e redness, blotchy-ness, acne scarring etc.) only because there really is no need to wear foundation if you have pretty decent skin. I'd recommend a tinted moisturizer or a powder foundation more than anything.

Anyway, I've tested quite a few foundations before and none of them worked for me. I've pretty much given up and went back to my Pur Minerals Pressed Foundation, but I saw this and wanted to give it a try. A few of you may have already read or watched reviews on this product already, but one more wouldn't hurt right? Its Maybelline's SuperStay 24-Hour Makeup.

This is so long overdue - I apologize! A lot of us now are starting to do DIY skin care. We're all starting to make our own masks, scrubs - even toners and moisturizers. It gets exhausting seeing new products come out in the market that claims to do so much and yet you get no results. Especially when it comes to eye care. I'm going to be sharing what I think is one of the best organic eye care books I've read to date - or more or less, the only eye care book I've read and will read, haha.

Organic Eye Care Recipes was written by Leon Rao, a natural skin care advisor and the owner of Beauty Secrets Revealed. Leon has also written the ever so famous skin care book, Leon's Anti-Aging Beauty Secrets, which features Ayurvedic (in short, Hindu system of medicine) recipes.

This book is filled with loads of information, tips, recipes and even eye exercises (massages people, lol). I still haven't even tried most of the recipes and tips she has in her book, but the ones I've tried so far, have worked real nicely. Now, I have naturally dark circles all thanks to genetics, but with this book I was able to make my eyes appear less dead and more alert - especially on days when I don't get enough sleep! I've also noticed the fine lines around my eye has dramatically softened and I am ecstatic.

I highly recommend you ladies (and gents) to check out this book - especially if you're looking for affordable alternatives to get rid of dark circles and crow's feet. She even talks about your diet and how to take better care of your body inside and out. This book originally goes for $27USD, but now for a special limited time offer, you can purchase this book for only $18USD + you get two free books along with it. Its a great deal, so don't miss out.

I've been hearing a lot of great things about Leon's natural eyelash serum, Lash Mantra as well. I've been lemming on that beauty for quite some time now and I recommend you all checking that out as well. Its an affordable and safe alternative to those other lash serums in the market today.

**DISCLAMER: I was given this product to review and all opinions are based on my own experiences. What works for me may not work for you. Before doing any type of DIY skin care, preceed with caution.

I was going to do a step-by-step picture guide on how I make and use this mask, but I haven't been able to get any sleep lately and I pretty much look like a dead cow - so that's not going to happen, lol. I haven't done much with this series, and I feel like I should start since right now my skin needs a little pick-me-up. Now some of you may have heard about the anti-aging benefits that egg whites are said to have - like helping to lift and firm the skin. Honestly, this doesn't work miracles - duh, but it does help give a temporary fix and I like using egg whites to sort of "perk up" my skin.

So, this was supposed to be a swap/bday package with the lovely Hanna and since the items I was eyeing wasn't available, Hanna decided to purchase me similar items and substitutes. I'm really liking Etude House so far. This is definitely one of my favorite Korean brands alongside Banila Co. ♥

I was happy and relieved that Lane received my package, and then I came home last night to find my long awaited parcel from the awesome Hanna has arrived! Here's a quick sneak peek of my next post.

Yes, that's a drawing of Kakashi from Naruto
just in case you're wondering, lol. (:

Hello beauties! Yes, it's that time again. Urban Decay is having another Friends & Family sale! From November 9TH till November 20TH, you get 30% off on your entire order! So go get your palettes, value sets and everything you've been eyeing! Remember to enter FNFW1 at checkout!

Before I start with the review, I want to ask those who've shopped at Eyeko before, have they raised their prices slightly? Last time I was on Eyeko, the cream was I believe $8USD - now its $9USD? Also, I believe their Fat Blam use to be $5USD and now its $8USD? Correct me on that? Or maybe I just haven't been on the site for a while my eyes are playing tricks on me, lol.

I've tried so many mascaras in the past from high-end to low-end and I always go back to drugstore mascaras. They're easy access, affordable, and most of them have really nice formulas. But I've also started to venture out in Asian brands and have fallen in love with fiber mascaras as well. So here's a quick low down on my top three.

I'm actually a primer/base fanatic as I'm always for the look out for a good primer. My current go-to primer is the Bare Escentuals primer, but I've been hearing some good things about The Body Shop Skin Primer Matte It from the current Fall '09 collection, so I wanted to try it out. Surprisingly enough, the two are pretty similar.

Hey guys! I wanted to thank all my friends and blogger buddies who wished me a Happy Birthday. It really made my day since I don't really get that much on my day, lol. And a big thanks to miss Anjalee who woke me up in the middle of the night just to say happy birthday, haha. I had a blast hanging out with you and the guys, too bad you couldn't have my birthday dinner with us! They surprised me with a homemade cake! It was also my 1 year anniversary with my BF, so he asked his cousin to help surprise me. How awesome is he? His cousin is such a pro baker, I love all her cakes. ♥

But I'm not here to talk about that or my birthday, lol. I made an order from the beautiful Miss Pop Champagne's line, Glam, Sparkle & Pop. She was so sweet to add some extra goodies for me and since I'm real happy with my purchase, I wanted share. I ordered the "Autumn Necklace", which features a nice Swarovski leaf pendant with three swarovski pearls on a 16" chain. And for the price of 17CDN, can you say love?
