Sophie Lancaster: A Dark Angel

I've always stayed away from news as I hate hearing and knowing about things like this going on in our society. But as Thanksgiving arrived, I saw this video (below) of Sam (you may all know her and Nic's channel pixiwoo) doing a makeup tribute to Sophie Lancaster, a victim of hate crime.

This was a similar story to Brian Deneke - another victim of hate crime, but what happened to Sophie and her boyfriend Robert Maltby, were vicious and inhumane. In August 2007, 20 year old Sophie and 21 year old Robert - both goths, were brutally attacked and left unconscious while walking through the park just because of how they looked. Robert was the first to get attacked, but when he was knocked unconscious, the group attacked Sophie while she was cradling and protecting Robert in her arms. Because of her severe injuries, Sophie went into a coma and never regained consciousness. Sophie past away days later.

It's shocking and disgusting knowing that people would go to such lengths to attack and harm others simply because they were different.IT'S WRONG, and no one deserves to be treated and harmed like that.

So today is Thanksgiving and I wish everyone a "HAPPY GET FAT DAY!" (LOL) and I hope all of you have a wonderful time with your families. Today is also Sophie's birthday, so MTV is going to broadcast a 4-minute animated film comissioned by UK make-up brand Illamasqua during a break of The Hills (9:30PM Pacific Time) entitled, Sophie: A Dark Angel. So I hope you all find a chance to watch it. If you happened to miss it, the video can be found on the channel, Sophie Foundation, or click this link.

  2. It's really sad that such a thing could still happen at this time & age. No one should be allowed to take another person's life.

Definitely is sad that people can't just get over it. There are so many messed up people in this world, and it just bothers me that the same thing can happen to me and my loved ones at any given time.

Yes, please spread the word and share the story Sesame. I've even had to scold my younger cousins for saying some inappropriate things about people just because of how they dress. Its sad that the media also plays a part in this as well.

Thanks hun, Happy Thanksgiving to you too!
