BRAND: Soap & Glory
PRODUCT: The Fab Pore™ Hot Cloth Cleanser
PRICE: (£7-9.00[?]) 14USD (at Target)
PROS: Gives fresh clean feeling, cleans dirt well
CONS: Can irritate eyes

I purchased this back in August and still have a lot left. But recently, I haven't touched this much as I have a different routine for winter seasons. This product is said to be a dupe for Liz Earle's Cleanse and Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser. Though I don't have it, I can say that its pretty much the same thing. But Soap & Glory is a bit cheaper (Liz Earle is £13.00). I've read some people love this and for others, it just didn't work out for them. For me personally, I'm in between - I don't hate it, but I'm not in love with it either.

With all Soap & Glory packaging, it has this very cutesy, feminine, vintage feel to it. I adore the font & color choices they use for their products as its extremely eye catching. This cleanser comes an silver squeeze tube which makes it handy for travel. I would prefer a flip top but I'm okay with the screw-on cap.

A closer look at the texture.
What I like most is that it comes with a really nice muslin cloth! Very convenient as I hear if you purchase this alone it would be around 10 bucks (?). This cloth is nice and soft. I like using it with my other cleansers as well! I soak this in warm water and use it to press off the cleanser.

INGREDIENTS: Linalool , Synthetic Beeswax, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Glycerin, Cetearyl Alcohol, Cetyl Esters, Sorbitan Stearate, Polysorbate 60, Theobroma Cacao (Cocoa) Seed Butter, Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis (Sweet Almond) Oil, Phenoxyethanol, Aqua (Water), Lavandula Angustifolia (Lavender) Flower Oil, Caprylyl Glycol, Methylparaben, Citrus Aurantium Amara (Bitter Orange) Leaf Oil, Pelargonium Graveolens Flower Oil, Salvia Sclarea (Clary) Oil, Panthenol, Disodium EDTA
(Please visit Beautiful With Brains for ingredients 101 as her site is very informative.)

I forgot to take a picture, so I'll come back and include the picture of the cream later today. The actual product is a thick white cream. It has a mix of almond, orange and lavender scent to it and I don't like it much. Some people actually like this smell. It makes me wonder if they're using the same product because I think it smells awful, haha. This cream gives off a slight tingling sensation when applied to the skin. I use about a dime to nickel size amount on my face. I personally didn't use this anywhere near my eyes. When I massage the cream around, I could feel my eyes starting to water slightly. So those with sensitive eyes, beware. This removes make-up and dirt off my face pretty well, but I still have to use my cleanser afterward to make sure everything comes off (especially when I wear heavier make-up). Another warning, if you massage the cream on for too long, you might experience some itching. Other than that, there's not much else I can say. This is something I probably wouldn't recommend to those with sensitive skin, but if you have normal to oily skin, then try this out. I also recommend using this during the summer as I feel this may be too harsh to use during winter. But its all different for everyone so do be cautious when trying out something new!

A nice product, but not something I'll be re-purchasing. I prefer to use cleansing oils and my current favorite is still the Origins Clean Energy Gentle Cleansing Oil.

Target has replaced Soap & Glory with NP and other branded bath sets, so I'm not sure if Soap & Glory will be available again when holidays are over. Just keep a look out.

  1. I unfortunately won't be repurchasing my "The Fab Pore Facial Peel" either. It's ok, but not fabulous, at least for me.
    Nice review!

  2. Thank you for the review. I absolutely love the Liz Earle Hot Cloth Cleanser and this looks very similiar. I'm tempted to try just to see how it compares but the scent is putting me off a bit. I hate products that smell awful!

Thanks for the mention, I appreciate it. :)

  3. Oh wow, a dupe for Liz Earle! I've been wanting to try Liz Earle for a while, but the price has been quite off-putting. It's always good to hear about dupes. :D Sadly this Soap&Glory one doesn't seem too kind to sensitive skin. :(

  4. This brand was just released at Sephora recently. I have yet to check out the entire range, but the body scrub have been gaining raves :P

I don't think this particular product is available though.

Yeah, seems like their face products are a big hit&miss. Their cosmetics are nice though. I was hoping to try more of their stuff before it was replaced. ):

I've heard so many good things about the Liz Earle version, so when I heard that S&G had something similar, I was so excited to give it a try. I agree with you though, products that have a bad smell to them are very off putting. If only it smelled better!

    @ littlewing
Definitely, if it could be slightly more gentle, I think those w/sensitive skin might really like this.

    @ AtelierGal
Your Sephora sells S&G products? I wish ours did! I've heard good things about the body scrub too! That was next on my list before Target took out S&G.

    @ Dina
I know, I had some high hopes because I've never tried hot cloth cleansers before. I gave it to my friend & kept the muslin cloth, lol!

    @ Blovet Beauty
I like their cosmetics too! I love sexy mother pucker, lol.

    @ Rin
Packaging is definitely a major plus! I think you can order then online. (:
