How To: Pencil Technique - Basics Pt. 1

As I try to finish the chosen look from this post, I decided to do a small demo on the pencil technique. I know that this can be difficult at first, but once you get the jist of it, its pretty simple and fun to do. I'm still a beginner in this area (I first learned this technique from Maria of ApropoMakeup & Nireyna of Beauty Art Studio). There are two parts to this - the first will be showing you how to apply the pencil and blend it out to create a template or base. The second will be showing you how you can create a gradation on top of the base using eye shadows.

What you'll need (shown in picture):
- A soft black eye liner (or a kohl)
- A small detailing or smudge brush
- Patience

*IMPORTANT: This technique works better when your eyelid is dry. So if you use concealer or use an eyelid primer, lightly dust some translucent powder on top to set. If you use anything slightly tacky, it will be hard to blend the liner.
